I was randomly clicking on the TV remote this afternoon, as I wait on my internet cafe clients, when I passed by a BBC report about American businesses loosing about 20% of production because of employees who are busy twittering, chatting and updating on social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace while they are at work. And I know for a fact (as most of my friends are) that Filipino workers also spent some (or most) of their working hours updating and playing in Facebook or chatting. It's not that I condemn those who do that, coz I would probably do the same if I am working 8 hours a day, 5-6 days a week in a confined environment *grins*, but as a business owner myself, albeit I handle a very small one, those little time mismanagement can and will cost us big in the long run.
If I were them, I would use an activity tracking software like ActiveTrak, it is far from the footsteps of the Big Brother software, as it will track the computer activities of your employees without any hassles in the workstation. It was designed from the ground up with the notion of tracking the active application title bar leading to an accurate and easily compiled usage statistics. The software, also, offers both real time and historical logs of user data thus enabling the review of an employee's day to day activities and productivity easy and hassle-free.
Just my two cents...
