To prevent a courtroom drama, anticipated by many, starring Rihanna and Chris Brown, the latter decided to settle for a guilty plea on Monday (June 22). It was said that Chris Brown appeared in a Los Angeles court, dressed in a gray suit, to accept a deal in his felony assault case to avoid trial. Rihanna was supposed to take the stand to recount the events of the altercation she had with Brown on February 8, instead, she, wearing an all black ensemble, appeared briefly to have the deal explained to her.
Chris Brown's accepted deal involves pleading guilty to the felony charges, agrees to five years supervised probation, must complete 180days of hard community service in his hometown Virginia, complete domestic abuse classes, appear every three months in court to show progress, have no communication with and stay at least 50 yards away from her lessening it to 10 in cases of appearance in the same industry events. Rihanna believed that the plea was a fair and just solution to the case except for the five-years stay-away order (if not lifted), according to her attorney Donald Etra.
Brown will be back in court on August 5 for formal sentencing.
