I Got It Cheap

My son was diagnosed with astigmatism when he was four, we had been noticing his inability to see small things (literally) since he was two but we didn't took action right away, there was this one time when he was going to drink a juice tetra pack and he was telling me that there was no straw but I am sure I did punch it in the hole already and then to prove his point he turned it upside down and in the process make a mess of himself (yes, the straw was stuck in there, he just didn't notice), it was kinda funny at that time but I sure am grateful that we didn't left it at funny, we might had made our move two years late but we managed to make it in time. When we brought him to the opthalmologist, the doctor told us that we were just in time as his right eye is almost afflicted with a visual malfunction called lazy eye. He was tested and had been prescribed with corrective eyeglasses and has been wearing one ever since.

Now, the problem is we have to purchase eyelasses a number of times in a year because like most kids, he tend to break his spectacles every now and then. If we are rich, it wouldn't be a problem but as we are not, it kinda always leave a big dent on our budget. One pair of quality eyeglasses at the moment cost to about 2500 (in Philippine peso), that amount can actually buy a few bags of groceries already, and that's how much we're spending every few months, imagine that. So, I was really impressed to have found out, through an article in Examiner aptly entitled Cheap eyeglasses are a reality, Check out Eric's review of Zenni Optical, that I can order inexpensive eyeglasses online and I can even do it in bulk. Their price ranges from $8 to $40 depending on the design and make of the frame and lenses, an extra $4.95 will be added to your bill if you want a bifocal or glarecoated eyeglasses, which is also way cheaper than that of the local stores and eye centers. Aside from that, people like me who has this dilemma of changing eyeglasses more than necessary, can order from Zenni Optical in bulk without worrying about the humungous shipping fee as they only charge a flat rate of $4.95 whether you buy one or many. That's pretty neat, right? There's a downside though, delivery might take up to two weeks as their laboratory is located abroad, well, if you'll ask me, it is no biggie, I mean with the savings that I can get I am willing to wait for months, if necessary *grins*. Money doesn't come by in weeks, either, so waiting for a week or two is just a small price to pay.
