Could it be true? Will Steven Tyler leave Aerosmith after almost 40 years of rocking?
I sincerely hope not, I can't picture Aerosmith without Mr. Tyler and I can't picture the latter out of Aerosmith *sigh*.

I was having my usual dose of showbiz news this morning when I saw the news in Washington Post. The rumor/story isn't making headlines (which gives me some hope that it is not entirely true), actually, it is just a part of a smorgasbord of news in one article when I read it. But it did bother me, I am a big fan, I was one of those who sang I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing and Jaded on the top of my lungs though my musical prowess is sorely lacking *grins*, I, even, love Liv Tyler the first moment I saw her because she's the daughter of my beloved Aerosmith, I was kinda torn who is her true father at that time *lol*. And now, one of them is leaving, and the others are either too hurt or too angry to think clearly, should I start crying now? I hope this is just a publicity stunt or a bad joke or anything else as long as it is not true...

Going solo?

We've heard it all before, but this time there may be some truth to stories that Aerosmith's lead singer, Steven Tyler, is going solo for good, the Chicago Sun Times reports.

The whispers started after the band's recent gig in Abu Dhabi, fueled by a comment made by bassist Tom Hamilton to the Boston Herald about Mr. Tyler quitting.

Now Aerosmith's Joe Perry tells the Las Vegas Sun, "Steven quit, as far as I can tell."

Mr. Tyler isn't talking, but recently he strongly hinted he was ready to move on. In an interview with Classic Rock magazine, he said, "I don't know what I'm doing yet, but it's definitely going to be something Steven Tyler, working on the brand of myself — Brand Tyler."

As the band approaches its 40th anniversary next year, Mr. Perry says Aerosmith will go on, even without Mr. Tyler, and if he indeed has quit for good, the band will hire a replacement singer.
