As today is the last day of November, I can't help but feel that Christmas is really just around the corner, though we haven't done any decorating or gift shopping yet, basically because of lack of funds *sigh*, the Christmas spirit is on the high.

I need to take care of some stuff starting today to prepare for the Holidays - I/we need to decorate to make our home Christmas-y, I need to buy gifts for our godsons and goddaughters, family members and other relatives, friends and for my dearest son and hubby, actually, I had bought one gift for my baby already and the plan for his 2nd gift is ready, his dad just need to print it out and bring it to Uncle Dick. We also need to buy some giveaways for our loyal clients in the computer shop and some loot bags for the kids who will visit nanay and tatay, I also need to buy some new stuff for my bebe - a pair or two of pants, a set of socks, a pair of a formal and rubber shoes, a few tees and some undergarments, I guess, I should buy some for hubby, too. I need to work on our menu and work on a decent budget to make it happen, you see during Christmas, my mother's brothers and sisters together with their own families make our house a pit stop, where they can rest, eat and chill after hearing the mass, so a carefully planned menu is necessary. I may need to do more but at the moment, I can only think of those *grins*.

But what is Christmas without a wishlist, everyone has the right to dream and wish...

  1. a laptop (I bought myself an early gift so I should have taken this out of the list but as it is part of my wishlist, I thought on posting it as it is)
  2. a new La Germania oven (ours is sooo old already, but it's still working and unless somebody will give me an oven as a gift, the old one will stay for a long, long time, I hope it doesn't get broken)
  3. a new washing machine (guess what, this one should be out of the list too :D)
  4. a new desktop (one that is mine and mine alone)
  5. a DSLR camera (Canon would be very much appreciated)
  6. an underwater digicam (did I hear somebody say Samsung?)
  7. the complete set of books of the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer (yes, I am such an ignoramus, I haven't read the book yet, though I've watch the movie adaptations)
  8. the complete set of A Series of Unfortunate Events (I had read a few but the whole bunch would be so much better)
  9. books from Catherine Coultier, Judith McNaught, Johanna Lindsey, Jude Deveraux and other romance fiction writers (per request, I want the queen, king, duchess, prince, England, Scotland, palace, mansions type of reading)
  10. wicker baskets and chests for my son's playroom (I've been wanting one seen I found a maker in Bulacan
... to be continued (my son is bugging me, he wants to eat lunch already *grins*)

I was busy playing my games in FB when I realized that I haven't posted anything in this blog for days, which is not unusual but it's something that I am trying to eliminate or, at least, lessen *grins*. I also realized that I haven't been doing Adgitize dropping which could mean another non-payment month for me from the advertising system *sigh*. Oh well, I just wish I'll do better next month...

While I was randomly visiting blogs, I saw something about a website calculator, I was intrigued but I didn't plunged in immediately and then, when I'm ready to do it, I can't find the website nor the blog where I first read it, lucky me!

Anyway, in an attempt to post my blog's worth, as if it is really worth something *grins*, I decided on trying My Web Site Worth. And the numbers are in...

The Snoring Queen is worth 3,938 US dollars... not that much but I still wish I could get that amount from the bank *grins*.

Have a great weekend everyone!

As many, if not all, of you might have noticed, I had begun my journey in paid blogging. I decided to join the many WAHM and SAHM of the blogosphere in earning a dollar or two (or more) via doing paid posts, and I had been on it for a month now, actually, I even got my first dollar today *grins*. I still haven't gotten the complete notion on how to get along in the business but I'm getting there, slowly but surely. And one of my recent discovery in the world of online opportunities is LinkFromBlog, one of the rising platforms in blog advertising. I think it works just like the others but this one has a catchy banner, a chance to earn a thousand bucks in a month, who wouldn't be persuaded?

I, recently, signed up and I am hoping and wishing that a few (or several) opps will come my way immediately, the more opportunities I get, the better chance of me buying that train set for my son *grins*. By the way, if you care to help me out a little, you can sign up as my referral, that way, I can earn a few more dollars. It's easy to join and totally hassle-free, just click the above banner, fill up the form, add your blog and activate your account by writing a short post, and that's about it. They'll inform you if you have an offer from an advertiser through e-mail or you can search the LinkFromBlog market for an open opportunity if you're itching to do a paid post *grins*.

Later guys...

A one-day sale event will take place tomorrow on all SM malls and its concessionaires. Yes, it is true, I'm kidding you not!

So, if you're like me, itching to shop and all, grab your bag and wallets, check on that credit card balance and count your cash, wear your most comfortable clothes and footwear and get your shopping groove on.

I'm so ready to hit the mall, but I have no one to man the computer shop *cry*. Any volunteer?

Efren Penaflorida pioneered the pushcart classroom (kariton classroom) in Cavite City together with his friends to give the unfortunate kids in their area the right to education and in the process lessen the chances of them being involve in gangs, of whom I wrote an article previously. And now, as I succumbed to write another one, it is with pride that I share with everyone that a fellow Pinoy, a simple and not-so-popular one like Manny Pacquiao, had risen to the top - Efren Penaflorida is CNN's Hero of the Year 2009. Among the 10 nominees, seven of which are Americans, he had emerged victorious, of course, through the help of his friends and supporters , mostly Filipinos (and that includes me) as shown by the number of votes cast under his name.

To read the whole story and watch some video clips, kindly go to CNN Living.

"You are the change that you dream as I am the change that I dream and collectively we are the change that this world needs to be." - Kuya F

Cheers to Efren and his co-volunteers and those other unnamed heroes in existence!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Incendia Health. All opinions are 100% mine.

My son has been using corrective eyeglasses since he was four, he's been into it for more than a year now, he's suffering from astigmatism and he's wearing a 300-300 spectacles. He can still function as well without it but as we together with his eye doctor aim to correct his vision, it is but necessary for him to wear his eyeglasses everyday. His path to having that perfect vision is unsure but we sure will try.

I was trying to learn more about astigmatism and other eye problems when I chanced upon a website that feature videos about better vision and it's effect or will be effect on individual persons.

Abbott Medical Optics Inc. (AMO), a global leader in laser vision correction, recently launched the You Gotta See This Video Contest, the video entries should be about the impact or would be impact of improved and better vision in one's life. As of the moment, various videos have been sent including original music videos, video clips showing sports regimen like swimming and boxing and some are as simple as everyday experiences and living. Big prices awaits the winners -
  • the grand prize is a whooping $5000, one lucky entrant can get a hold of that;
  • the 1st prize winners will take home an HDTV package worth $2500 and there's gonna be a winner in each of the three categories;
  • the second placers will get the Flip UltraHD camcorder, also one in each category.
The good thing is you can still join the iLASIK Video Contest as it is still open and currently accepting more entries. But before you grab that video camera and shoot away, I suggest you read the details of the contest. As I mentioned earlier, there are three (3) categories, you can choose one and you're good to go -
  • My contacts are getting in the way of my good time
  • My favorite sport or activity would be so much cooler with better vision
  • You should see life after the iLASIK® Procedure
When you're done, just submit it over at GottaSeeThisNow.com and encourage and persuade your friends, family members, colleagues and other acquaintances to vote for your video.

Okay now, go and shoot that winning video.

Actually, it already started yesterday night (it is 2:07am, Sunday, Nov.22 in my part of the world), but, nope, I wasn't one of the selected folks who got to see the premier *sigh*.
The World Pyro Olympics had changed location, from SM MOA to Fort Bonifacio - one of the reason why I can't watch it with my family, that is too far from our place *sigh (again)*, but I am not loosing hope, I still have four Saturdays to find a way *grins*.

Shopping is every women 's stress therapy but sometimes, though uncommon, shopping can also take its toll. Just a week ago, I decided to raid one of the malls here in the metro as they were having a mall-wide sale, it was fun at first but when the crowd began to double and triple, my cloud 9 (shopping feeling) was suddenly shadowed with fatigue and frustrations. My Christmas list is growing longer by the minute and I can't find the time and energy to rush to the nearest mall and share bodily fluids (aka sweat) with the ever-huge shopping crowd. My body is not able but my mind is, so as my fingers and eyes *grins* - here comes online shopping to the rescue.

Dirt Devil is taking the term online shopping to a different level, gone were the days of shuffling back and forth, from one online shop to the other in search of that perfect gift and item, comparing prices, stock and delivery dates. They (the people at Dirt Devil) kinda did the shuffling for us, choosing and picking only those online shops that will give the best value to our money and those that have the best product lines, they wrapped it in a nifty little file called Dirt Devil Holiday Gift Guide. This 12-page downloadable file is also named as Dirt Devil 2009 Guide to Red Hot Online Shopping Shortcuts (refer to the photo above), it is packed with 300 websites, tricks and treats of online shopping and other useful ways to go online shopping with a max product in hand but with a minimum dent in your purse. There's a list of Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Deal a Day websites which can help you plan the course you're gonna take come the sale dates, to ensure that you're gonna grab the best one in the shelf. They also included a line of Gifts for Her, Gifts for Him and Family Favorites, giving us plenty of gift choices for our loved ones, friends and colleagues, you know what, I already found a crafty little thing to give to my hubby come Christmas time. And yes, I don't worry much about shipping cost as they also offer free shipping shortcuts and they have this Free Shipping Day which will happen on the 17th of December. Pretty cool eh?

Finding Dirt Devil's Holiday Buying Guide is such a blessing, unexpected but very much appreciated. At this age and time, saving is all the trend!

Online shopping mode on!

It's only 37 days before Christmas and because I already did my initial pre-Holiday season shopping, I am a willing slave to the Christmas and gift-giving spirit *grins*. Anyway, to keep my blog in the mood as well, I decided to feature a series of Filipino Christmas songs in the few remaining mondays before the celebration.

Happy Music Monday everyone!

Christmas in our Hearts
by Jose Mari Chan

Whenever I see girls and boys
Selling lanterns in the streets
I remember the Child
In the manger as He sleeps
Whenever there are people
Giving gifts exchanging cards
I believe that Christmas
Is truly in their hearts
Let's light our christmas trees
For a bright tomorrow
Where nations are at peace
And all are one in God.

CHORUS:
Let's sing 'Merry Christmas
And a happy holiday'
This season, may we never forget
The love we have for Jesus
Let Him be the One to guide us
As another new year stars
And may the spirit of christmas
Be always in our hearts
In every prayer and every song
The community unites
Celebrating the birth
Of our Saviour Jesus Christ
Let love, like that starlight
On that first Christmas morn
Lead us back to the manger
Where Christ the Child was born
So come let us rejoice
Come and sing the Christmas carol
With one big joyful voice
Proclaim the name of the Lord.

Come join Music Monday and share your songs with us. One simple rule, leave ONLY the actual post link here. You can grab this code at LJL Please note these links are STRICTLY for Music Monday participants only. All others will be deleted without prejudice.

PS: Because of spamming purposes, the linky will be closed on Thursday of each week at midnight, Malaysian Time. Thank you!

He did it! He did it! Yes, yes, he did it!

I'm not crazy or on the brink of loosing it, I'm just happy that my bro passed his LET (Licensure Examinations for Teachers), he took it last Oct. 2, it was supposed to took place on Sept. 26 but typhoon Ondoy happened and so it was re-scheduled.

There's no written notice or confirmation yet but he did found out about the released notice this November 15 through a friend's link in FB.

In case you wanna find out if you or any of your friends, love ones, colleagues, neighbors or any of your acquaintances passed the licensure exams for teachers/board exams, just follow the link -

LET Board Passers - Elementary, October 2009
LET Board Passers - Secondary/High School, October 2009

Note: If you can't find the name that you so want to see, don't despair, as I think, this is not a complete list yet. Hangga't walang announcement from PRC, may pag-asa. The list of top board passers isn't release yet so I can safely assume that what you can find in the link is not the complete set yet. And for the benefit of those who aren't mentioned in the list, I sincerely hope, I am correct.

Shout out to my brother and his friends - Good job guys!

In a Car Fix

My husband loves motorcycles, you may or may not believe it but we have a number of scooters and big bikes (motorcycle) in our garage, not to mention those three-wheeled go cart-styled vehicles that he custom-built with his own design. He loves motorcycles that much that he even gifted our son a small bike on his 4th birthday, sort of his relinquishing the crown and dream of becoming a racer, haa, not on this lifetime and not my son *grins*. The only four-wheeled vehicle parked in our garage is our old Wrangler which hasn't been repaired or customized in years but we plan to have it repaired and refurnished after the Holiday season (aka spending season). We haven't decided on what to put in and take out but we both (hubby and me) agree that a navigation unit unit is in order, after all GPS is a necessity in long journeys and road trips, which we plan to do this coming summer.

Anyhow, as early as now, I have been looking around the net for good buys, and I found just the place where I can get high quality car and auto parts. I have been scanning their website for a while now and I do think that it is worth a visit, AutoPartsPoint.com offers a wide-range of products, be it domestic or imported vehicles. They carry a wide selection of cars and truck parts in various models and model years and all of it comes with a full one year warranty. One more thing, if your purchases amounted to $50, they'll even send your order free of shipping charge. If that's not a good deal, I don't know what is, so if you're currently doing some car repair or remodeling or just in the hunt for some car performance booster, I suggest you give the above mentioned online car part-retailer a try.

Managing a computer shop often takes toll on me and my sanity, imagine groups of kids shouting at each other as they play an online war game or a number of teens playing those hate-themed rap songs at max volume, add the others who are waiting for their turn to rent and be seated, nagging and asking if anyone's time is up yet *sigh*. Most of the time I keep myself preoccupied with Facebook apps, I try to blog while I man the cafe but I always end up with a blank note, noise and me thinking is not really that compatible. But Facebook games can only do so much, sometimes, I get tired and weary of playing and that's where my ever-reliable itunes music file comes in - I do music tripping without a care to my surroundings, I just plug my earphones, pick my favorite tracks and relax. But as I am not the only one who owns an ipod/mp3 player in our family, I need to share the PC and music downloads with them, the hassle in so doing is clattering the music list with the same songs. But, I think, I finally found a way to delete duplicates in itunes and I don't need to pay a dime to download it.

Moleskinsoft's Clone Remover is an award-winning small shareware utility that finds duplicate files in Windows (Vista supported) and removes it. It helps to search and delete duplicated data in a safe way on our PC or laptop like photo-video and music/mp3 files, .rar and .zip archives are also detected and deleted, if necessary.

My computer can heave that deep breath, as deleting duplicate files also means a bigger disk space thus a better and faster performance by my beloved PC. Sound tripping will also be more enjoyable as I won't waste time dragging tracks from one folder to the other, giving me more time to jive and sway to the music *grins*.

As expected, by most Filipinos and other international supporters - Manny Pacquiao did it again, he knocked out Miguel Cotto on the 12th round, gaining him another belt and sealing his name as the best boxer in the league and the pound for pound king of our time.

Join me in saying, Yes! Pinoy rules!

Oh yes, finally, a chance to have that much-awaited and longed for retail therapy *grins*. I started making my list a few days ago and I am in the process of checking it twice and on Saturday and Sunday, I' m gonna go shopping *jumps for joy*.

Could it be true? Will Steven Tyler leave Aerosmith after almost 40 years of rocking?
I sincerely hope not, I can't picture Aerosmith without Mr. Tyler and I can't picture the latter out of Aerosmith *sigh*.

I was having my usual dose of showbiz news this morning when I saw the news in Washington Post. The rumor/story isn't making headlines (which gives me some hope that it is not entirely true), actually, it is just a part of a smorgasbord of news in one article when I read it. But it did bother me, I am a big fan, I was one of those who sang I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing and Jaded on the top of my lungs though my musical prowess is sorely lacking *grins*, I, even, love Liv Tyler the first moment I saw her because she's the daughter of my beloved Aerosmith, I was kinda torn who is her true father at that time *lol*. And now, one of them is leaving, and the others are either too hurt or too angry to think clearly, should I start crying now? I hope this is just a publicity stunt or a bad joke or anything else as long as it is not true...

Going solo?

We've heard it all before, but this time there may be some truth to stories that Aerosmith's lead singer, Steven Tyler, is going solo for good, the Chicago Sun Times reports.

The whispers started after the band's recent gig in Abu Dhabi, fueled by a comment made by bassist Tom Hamilton to the Boston Herald about Mr. Tyler quitting.

Now Aerosmith's Joe Perry tells the Las Vegas Sun, "Steven quit, as far as I can tell."

Mr. Tyler isn't talking, but recently he strongly hinted he was ready to move on. In an interview with Classic Rock magazine, he said, "I don't know what I'm doing yet, but it's definitely going to be something Steven Tyler, working on the brand of myself — Brand Tyler."

As the band approaches its 40th anniversary next year, Mr. Perry says Aerosmith will go on, even without Mr. Tyler, and if he indeed has quit for good, the band will hire a replacement singer.

I am a food enthusiast and I am a voracious eater, if you need proof, I can send you some photos to show off my body excesses *lol*. Anyway, I asked a friend who works in Israel to send me a few of the country's famous desserts and pastries - baklava and halvah, I have been craving and wanting to have a taste of those babies for a while now but as my friend is so busy with her work and the chance of me getting those goodies fresh from Israel is, admittedly, bleak, we have been postponing the moment. My friend said that the shipment might take a while even if she use an air freight to send it to me as it is mandatory in Israel to check every packages, so the checking alone will eat up some time plus the actual forwarding and she's kinda thinking (and I somewhat agree with her) that the baklava and halvah may not reach me on time (before it expire and spoils). So, my craving for some of those treats had intensified through time without any clear means to satisfy it.

But just tonight, my bff called me up telling me the good news, someone recommended her eFood Depot, it is an online market where I can order some halvah and baklava. The shipping is fast with a flat rate of $4.99, I can even have it delivered for free if my purchase amounted to $75 or more and if I am lucky I can even get free gifts as some purchases/products on the list have freebies with them. So the always curious me checked out the site and I found out that they're products are not limited to Middle Eastern countries, there's Indian, European, South American and Asian food online and the varieties of products range to almost 10,000 and it is said to be growing. If you're in the hunt for those rare and hard to find ingredients, you can try you 're luck there, they might just have it, they even offer recipes and cooking demos in video - I now know how to cook Pad Thai *grins*.

My best friend and I closed the deal, she'll order and pay for the baklava and halvah for me, as she's supposed to send me some, and all I have to do is wait and expect my not-so-surprise delivery one of these days. I love my bff!

Christmas is just around the corner, only 47 more days, I think.

And to prove that Christmas is soon coming, though I haven't save enough to buy presents for friends and love ones *grins*, here's two Christmas station IDs, of course, from the battling networks - ABS-CBN (channel 2) and GMA 7 (channel 7).

From Channel 2 - Bro, Ikaw ang Star ng Pasko

From Channel 7 - Sama-sama Tayong Mag-pasalove

Personally, I like that of ABS-CBN better. How about you, which one do you prefer?

I was randomly clicking on the TV remote this afternoon, as I wait on my internet cafe clients, when I passed by a BBC report about American businesses loosing about 20% of production because of employees who are busy twittering, chatting and updating on social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace while they are at work. And I know for a fact (as most of my friends are) that Filipino workers also spent some (or most) of their working hours updating and playing in Facebook or chatting. It's not that I condemn those who do that, coz I would probably do the same if I am working 8 hours a day, 5-6 days a week in a confined environment *grins*, but as a business owner myself, albeit I handle a very small one, those little time mismanagement can and will cost us big in the long run.

If I were them, I would use an activity tracking software like ActiveTrak, it is far from the footsteps of the Big Brother software, as it will track the computer activities of your employees without any hassles in the workstation. It was designed from the ground up with the notion of tracking the active application title bar leading to an accurate and easily compiled usage statistics. The software, also, offers both real time and historical logs of user data thus enabling the review of an employee's day to day activities and productivity easy and hassle-free.

Just my two cents...

A few posts ago, I mentioned that I have a new addiction and I wasn't able to blog for quite some time because of that, remember? I even told you guys that I'll tackle the matter on a different post, and I guess the time has come *grins*

Cafe World is one of the up and coming superstar application in Facebook, it was developed and released by Zynga, yup, the same one that gave us those other addicting games like Yoville, Mafia Wars and Farmville. It is much like Restaurant City, wherein you own the cafe and you act as the chef, you can hire your friends as waiters and waitresses and you can expand and buy stuff as you level up. In this game though, the dishes are cooked within a specific time and you have to be there to get it out of the stove and into the serving counter before it spoils. But don't despair, you can still play the game though your not online 24/7 (unlike me *grins*) because Cafe World works in real time, the food gets cooked even though your out of the game and your employees continuously serve without getting tired. The cooking time of each dishes varies, from 3 minutes to 2 days, so it is basically about strategy, you choose which dish to cook depending on your availability to go online and play.

At the moment, I am a t level 35 and 3rd in ranking (among my group of friends), my rating is at 105 (the thumbs up sign) and I think, that's the highest one can get.

As I love the color pink, I decided to go pink all the way in decorating my cafe, the dashes of black (counter and grills) are but necessary as they don't input pink counter and grills *grins*.

Currently, I own a Family Cafe, 10x12 in size but I am working hard to save 125k coins to purchased the next upgrade - a Plentiful Cafe which is 12x13 in size. I have 12 stoves and 7 counters but I am only using six plus five employees under my command. Next time, I'll do an update with me on the number 1 spot in terms of ranking and you'll see a bigger and better cafe *fingers cross*.

Care to be my neighbor?

In promotion of Manny Pacquiao's fight with Miguel Cotto on November 14, he guested on Jimmy Kimmel Live last November 4, he even sang Sometimes When We Touch live. Press play and watch *grins*.

Aside from that Pacman had his face plastered on the cover of Time Magazine *grins*.

"I absolutely had no idea that when I started my career in boxing, to provide a better life for myself and my family, that I would now be where I am today and on the cover of TIME Magazine," said Pacquiao. "A fighter's dream is to win a world title and gain financial stability. But what is happening to me now is the most humbling experience of my life. It is a great honor for me to be the face of my people and to let everyone know we are a small but mighty country. I have great pride for all of the Filipinos living throughout the world and it is these people that I fight for each and every time I step into the ring."

Manny Pacquiao is 100% Pinoy and truly world-class.

Moving Forward

I had a chat with a college friend, a very dear one at that, two nights ago about her recent divorce and her plans as she moves forward. She and her husband of 11 years decided to separate almost a year ago but their divorce was just finalized last month. She got married right after college, she met her American husband through her sister who works in the US, we kept connected but the last time I saw her in person was about four or five years ago when she and her husband visited the country to spend a summer getaway by the beach. I know that they love each other but as my friend says, priorities and goals in life change and people tend to follow suit.

Anyway, I was surprised by what she has told me, she's gonna come home to Manila and she may stay for a long while. She's currently taking care of her properties, the ones allotted to her by the court, to make her life here and in the US (in case she changes her mind and come back) smooth and easy. She asked me (to ask my pop) where or what company in Cincinnati should she get to handle her property leasing and rentals, in case you wanna know, my parents lived and worked in the Land of the Free for more than thirty years so they kinda know some stuff and some people.

My pop suggested Real Property Management, he was convinced that the said company can help my friend in putting her property in the rental and leasing market without the hassle and they can assist her throughout the whole process up to collecting rents and dealing with evictions, she can also be sure that the company will take care of her property in her absence.

Now, all I have to do is to wait for her homecoming.

Yep, Survivor Philippines Palau is down to five and I'm dying to know who will get to the top 4 spots. This night's episode was emotional - Amanda got the immunity for the second time, Mika lost party because she helped out Jef, who was in danger of drowning, Mika, Jef and Amanda's conversation, or more appropriately termed confrontation left me in limbo and hanging and quite fankly, jittery.

“Para sa akin, it’s unacceptable. It’s like, ‘Ang kapal ng mukha mo!’ And at no point do I think that you’re deserving at all." - Mika

“Si Jef, she needs time. Wala siyang sariling pag-iisip. Wala siyang sariling desisyon. Para siyang tupa na sumusunod lang sa shepherd.” - Amanda

“Sobrang hirap. Parang feeling ko, tinatanggalan ako ng karapatan dito sa Survivor. ngayon ko nakita na lahat sila nagrerely, parang feeling ko nasa akin. Nasa akin ang desisyon, tapos kung meron akong isang pagkakamali, lahat sila magagalit sakin in the end.” - Jef

I don't like Jef, I don't need to explain myself, if you're watching Survivor Philippines closely, I think my statement is self-explanatory. I hope she gets voted out next. I hope Amanda wins as the sole Pinoy Survivor *grins*.

I can't wait for tomorrow night...

It took me a second look before I realized it was Big Bird's legs, his legs stands up as the L in Google, with one click I found out why.

Big Bird and the rest of the Sesame Street gang will celebrate their 4oth season on November 10 thus making the big and friendly yellow bird 40 years old. The rest of the story can be found at the Examiner.

Who doesn't know Elmo and Grover (my son's favorite characters) or Big Bird, Ernie and Bert, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch, Count von Count, Rosita, and Zoe? Sesame Street have been a part of our toddler years ages ago and now it is a part of our sons and daughters' wherever in the world we live. I remember a decade ago, when I did my thesis in Mass Communications, I chose Educational Program for Children as a topic and know what, according to the survey that I conducted together with my friends and grandma, most Filipino moms and guardians believe that Sesame Street is the best educational program for children at that time. And that is one of the reasons why I invested in buying cds, vcds and dvds even before my son was born *grins*.

Happy Birthday Big Bird! Cheers to the whole Sesame Street gang! Long live Sesame Street!

One of my younger cousins (trust me, I have plenty) asked me for a small favor, he was supposed to do a report or review about Corregidor and the battle that took place in that island but he kinda forgotten about it or he purposely forgets it up until the short holiday was finished. He was still in school when he called, his teacher gave him and two of his classmates two more days to pass their report or they will loose 15% of their grades. I should have dodged his phone call but I don't want him to fail and my love of him overshadowed my instincts that he should reap the consequences of his actions *grins*.

As I am in a habit of downloading free e-books, I knew instantly that I have to search pdf files for my little cousin, more than the time and computer space that I can save, passing the whole file to him will be easy, I can just sent it through e-mail or file transfer.

Good thing I am an e-book junkie, finding a book about Corregidor is as easy as one, two, three with the help of Book Search Queen. You just key in the title of the book and the author (if you know) and in just a minute or two you'll have what you're looking for, if and when they have it in file but don't worry, they have a huge collection of e-books so more probable than not is that they have what you're looking for. I found a pdf file about the topic I am searching on in a matter of minutes, and you know what, they even have it in our local language - Tagalog.

Now it is in my little cuz' hands, I wish him luck!

Remember a few posts back (Just a Heads Up), I mentioned about two long holidays in November, the first one just passed us through (Nov.1 and 2) and the second one was just taken away from us by the Malacanang Palace *sigh*. I don't have a typical 9-5 grind and my line of work isn't even cover by holidays but as I have a son who goes to school, I tend to love holidays more. Holidays means I can stay in and out of bed later than usual, it means I can just lounge around in the morning and skip my weekday routine of running and circling around as we prepare for school, it also means I can watch TV all I want and hubby will and can take-over whatever task I have, can you blame me if I love holidays so much.

MANILA - President Arroyo has amended an earlier proclamation and declared that only in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao would the Muslim festival of Eid'l Adha be celebrated as holidays on November 27 and 28.

Proclamation No. 1808-A, signed by President Arroyo on October 26, declared the observance of Eid’l Adha as a regional holiday in ARMM as stated in Republic Act 9492 – the law which rationalized the celebration of national holidays which was enacted in 2007.

MalacaƱang, in Proclamation No. 1808 signed April 12, declared that Eid’l Adha was to be observed as a national holiday. The earlier Palace order cited the Muslim festival as one of the two greatest feasts of Islam.

It would have marked the first time that the Muslim celebration, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice and held by Muslims after the annual pilgrimage to Mecca, would have been observed as a national holiday. The earlier proclamation aimed for an equal accommodation to the great festivities of Muslims and Christians as it also cited great feasts of the Christian church such as Christmas Day, Easter Sunday, and All Saints’ Day are national holidays.

Eid al-Adha is a religious festival celebrated by Muslims. It commemorates the sacrifice made by the Prophet Abraham (Ibrahim) when God asked him to give his own son.

With the new proclamation, Nov. 27 and 28 would only be non-working holidays in ARMM.

Meanwhile, November 30, a Monday, is a regular non-working holiday to commemorate Andres Bonifacio Day.

This one's just another heads up *grins*.

Oh well, I got my treat this Halloween and I believe, it was given to me, even, earlier than today. Care to know what treat I am talking about? It is, actually, a blogging treat *grins*, something that only Mr. Google can give, have you guess it yet?

If you're thinking about pagerank, then you guessed it right *applause*! The Snoring Queen (this blog) is now a proud member of the elite PR club (is there such a club? *lol*), it has, recently, acquired a PR2, imagine that... I skip 1 and went ahead to two, isn't it wonderful? Don 't ask me how and why it happened because I have no idea, either , but I am super duper happy that it did.

Wanna know more? I am in nirvana, not just because of this blog's PR2 but because of the culmination of PR of my other blog and those that I help to maintain... I feel pretty proud of my work and may babies (blogs). A Taste of Both Worlds climb a notch higher, being a 2 for more than a year, it's now a PR3; Kutsara at Tinidor, a food/photo blog of my sis-in-law is now a PR3 after getting stuck in 2 for two quarters; One Dish at a Time, a recipe blog from the same author now has a PR1, ain't blogging life grand?

But I still wish that Pick A Pic was included in the PR upgrade,it would have made my happiness more complete, but who said we can have it all *grins*. I 'm thankful for all the blessings...
